Kincaid is a residential community located on State Highway 61. It is served by a post office, daycare center and a convenience store. It was named for the Kincaid family which settled the area around 1830.

Residents are proud of country musician Billy Payne who is from Kincaid. His pictures are proudly displayed in Woods Quick Mart.

Kenneth and Delores (a descendant of the original Kincaid family) Fox grew up in the area and live in a house where her grandfather had a house. Kenneth was an engineer on the “Old Virginian” line that ran between Page and Roanoke. “I built this house myself during layoff periods,” said Mr. Fox. “When you were new with the railroad, you got laid off fairly regularly,” he said with a smile.

Mrs. Fox was the bookkeeper for the coal company store. She currently serves as Treasurer for the United Methodist Womens Organization. “Our Kincaid congregation is the oldest established Methodist Church in the Beckley District,” she explained. “It was started in 1840. The church holds a homecoming reunion on the third Sunday each August.”

The Page/Kincaid Reunion is held every odd year on Memorial Day weekend. People with a connection to the area come back from all over to catch up with their friends. In 2009 about 200 people attended the reunion dinner.
